What is the selection process?

Scripts are evaluated by our readers, and the final short list by the competition judges. The three finalists will be notified by mid-June. Results (including long and short lists) will be announced via the Windsor Fringe website, social media and other promotional sites. Approximate announcement dates are expected to be:  Long list – end of April; Short list end of May and Final three mid-June.

The name of the winner of the Kenneth Branagh Award for New Drama Writing will be held in a sealed envelope until the Awards Ceremony which takes place at the end of the last night’s performances, and will be announced by the Chair of the Windsor Fringe.

When are the final scripts performed?

The final three plays will be performed in Windsor nightly over three consecutive dates in October 2024. The finalists will be notified and the Directors of their plays appointed.  The writers are invited to attend the Award night performance when the winner is announced, and each will be given two complimentary tickets.
